Dancing Queens

I agree that Donie's dresses are unflattering, it's a shame because she's pretty. Last episode, I saw another much plumper contestant who I think came last but didn't show much of her dancing but better dressed than Donie from a quick glimpse. Also, Donie when dancing, she looks tensed instead of having fun; maybe that could be a factor too.

You are referring to that gal in the animal print. Yes, I had the exact same thought. And I agree with you on Donie's dancing as well. I've seen her better on the floor than any of the other contestants, but only for moments. Most of the time she seems uncomfortable, off center, and even stiff, and I think all of that is psychologically driven. She has all she needs to be a champ, her weight notwithstanding, she just needs to find herself (and put on a better dress).

For the record here: you can be positively maddening sometimes. But you are smart and knowledgeable and very analytical, and you often express a point of view that is so different from my own that I am compelled to look at people from new and unexpected angles. DF wouldn't be the same without you.

This year Emerald Donie won rising star Pro/Am for Smooth and Latin, in her age group.
For Latin B championship, she placed 4 out of 6.

She is dancing with different Pros now. For Smooth she's dancing with a current Smooth Pro finalist who is taller than her and they look good together.

For Latin I'm not as familiar with Latin lol.

Man if this show was about Smooth I would be writing 100x as much on this thread.

I mentioned that earlier that her Pro from the show is just too small for her. I also saw that she got new Pro from her Instagram. I think Donie and Sabrina's Pro will look good together :D

Thank you. So, the rules are the same as for Pros. But Donie has placed before in the final. I guess I'm confused how she danced in Rising Star. Or is it specific to a comp?
 
From the NDCA rule book:

d. The Pro/Am student winner of any Closed Multi-Dance or Rising Star Multi-Dance event of three dances or more, in which a semifinal is held, is ineligible to compete in the same Multi-Dance Level, Style, and Age category at that event in following years at that same event. Organizers may enforce more stringent requirements, provided it is outlined in their Rules and Regulations and included on entry forms.​
 
Yes. So if you are in a final, you can still compete in Rising Star. Since you didn't win.

Also, if you win the Latin Championship B Open, you can still compete in Latin Championship A Open.

And it's per event.

I read rules from Ohio so I guess they can change at different events too.
