DWTS Season 9 Week 8

According to Wikipedia, the dances this week are:

Aaron & Karina - Foxtrot & Samba
Joanna & Derek - Quickstep & Paso Doble
Mýa & Dmitry - Quickstep & Samba
Kelly & Louis - Foxtrot & Jive
Donny & Kym - Viennese Waltz & Paso Doble

Unless Joanna's been hitting the weight room, this may end up being the lamest Paso EVER on this show, and that's saying a lot. You can't be such a wet noodle and do good Paso.

hahaha, agreed! But let's face it, the judges are gonna love anything she does.

I am worried about Aaron and the Samba. I feel bad because he deserves to be there over some of the others but his personality is a turnoff so he doesn't get votes... if he doesnt do well with BOTH dances, this could be his last week.

I think Aaron may be saved (if it's a single elimination) by the growing groundswell of outright hatred for Joanna. I think if it winds up a danceoff between them, and the votes are really solid against her, the producers aren't going to let the judges save someone significantly unpopular.

I don't know why there is such a dislike for Joanna. I think she's very talented and has a good attitude. She isn't a perfect dancer but who is? Plus I like Derek's choreography. He's fun to watch.
Aaron is talented and seems to be very emotionally vested in every performance. Its hard not to root for that type of individual.
Really, the only one left that I'm not too happy about is Mya. They never seem to do the dance they are supposed to- especially in the smooth dances. I know they are allowed to do American smooth but it doesn't even look like American smooth. Their numbers come across as looking like a modern lyrical mash up.

I just logged in to see if anyone knew - if you don't, that's not a good sign! - and who were the women?

don't know. and no one on the ABC DWTS forum or on the My ox is broken chat site seems to know either. I also came here hoping someone would know.

Maybe Beto will have some info tomorrow -- or someone who has seen the DWTS tour and has the program --

Because she's a wet noodle with a bobble problem in Standard, can't stand on her own feet in Latin, has no finish or style especially to her footwork, and in spite of all this seems to think she's the best dancer ever. Her attitude is "little snot".

If the judges lowballed Donny to get voters moving, it worked. I got through once on his line and can't get through again.

But didn't she just start dancing prior to the show? I think she had some ballet as a kid but she isn't a trained dancer or athlete, right? We are referring to the model here.

hereKittyKitty, I also am not a huge Mya fan for those same reasons, although i do think she did a much better job last night.
I agree that Derek is brilliant with great choreography, but IMO Joanna only looks good because Derek is very smart in his choreography/getting the public on his side (not to mention he is very popular to begin with). So glad they finally came down on her in the quickstep.

Danceronice, I agree about Joanna also... except I think the dance community are the only ones who don't find her dancing so wonderful. I think the rest of America (majority non-dancers) really love her... especially after Derek's great choreography/costumes/atmosphere last night... he executed a great politcal strategy to get into the semifinals.
i am afraid Aaron will most likely be going home... :(

It's a shame Karina got sick, i think Aaron's foxtrot had a lot of potential to be better if she wasn't.

Also, as much as i really love Donny and his attitude... has anyone else noticed that it is normally Kim leading in the dances/he is following a routine without leading at all?? :-? They don't even try to make an illusion like the other male contestants who have come far this season.

I love Kelly for her passion for dancing, but I think her jive was overrated.

PS - I don't know the names of the dancers who did the paso with Tony and Mark, but Tom B said they were "some of today's top young dancers." That implies to me that they are either some students, or possibly new professionals.
