The scarf idea sounds nice! Sometimes black can look very stylish, but imagine the look of ... perhaps a favorite color ... on top of the LBD. :raisebro:

And everything else on that list I have too! But I don't know if those would be the top of my list or not.

My top ten would be:

1. Evening dress (red and/or black)
2. Definitely right bra for right outfit, and right color of bra for right outfit.
3. One basic watch to wear any place.
4. One dress up shoe to wear for evening and/or job.
5. Something to put your money and/or keys in when you go places.
6. Cell Phone (for safety reasons if anything at all).
7. Makeup and moisturizer etc.
8. Perfume and/or whatever you use to make yourself smell good.
9. Some basic clothes, so they won't go out of style at the end of the season.
10. A version of the book, He's Just Not That Into You, lol! (Ok I couldn't think of a #10, but every girl should read this book!

Might I suggest a book called "Concious Loving" instead? It will take time to digest, and you'll get more out of it the second time you read it, yet it could be very enlightening if you are open to it.

Saw a woman who had just that setup in the trunk of her Mercedes. Maybe that's the reason for the "neutral shoe" item, so that you don't have to pack as much with you. Mine is a pair of black Florsheims, leather soles (incredibly difficult to find anymore), that I always keep in the trunk of my car.

Go with me? Or heck, find a lady friend, even if she doesn't dance, take her to a basic lesson or a few, then go together. Or ... be daring, and go by yourself.

2. I would change to black shoes.

3. Agreed.

4. Colorful, not necessary. But classic, definitely yes. I'd say a compact umbrella if you were in a hot/moist/rainy climate. (Been there, done that)

5. A practical bag... Eh... Not for me. I minimize what I carry with me. I'm ok as long as I have a pocket for a credit card and some cash, and pocket or clip for my phone (and a small phone).

6. Sunscreen - yes, or moisturizer/lotion with sunscreen in it.

I would add:
1. A nice pair of conservative, classic earrings. Gold or silver, whichever you prefer. I choose silver.

2. A good lip gloss/moisturizer.

3. Some floss. I found one that comes in a package that looks like a credit card. (I might be biased, I work in the dental field. I think EVERYONE should carry floss. :D)

i have two little black dresses... man do they get wear year-round...
my winter coat is a tan fake suede... goes with everything... but i've got a bright red silk one i use when it's not too cold (or when i feeling like being more dramatic:rolleyes:)

yah, the list is all downright basics-of-the-basics practical. except for the sunscreen... not really into that

definitely have to add "great pair of black heels" to the list, tho... and a really great pashmina or scarf

Ayuh on the 1st one. :raisebro: Found the 2nd one interesting. Not surprised on the 3rd. The 4th one seems odd if you live in a warm climate, except to travel this could still be a good idea. The 5th is another non-surprise. The 6th seems down right healthy to me.

So ... how do you feel about this list?

Would your top six be the same?

And what would you add if instead you wanted to create a top 10 list?

I asked the SO what she would change or add to the list.

1. LBD a must
2. Change the neutral color to a black, 2 inch heel
3. Definitely the correct bra
4. A warm winter coat, could be black
5. A small hand bag
6. A subtle, classy perfume

And the final four

7. A sexy piece of lingere
8. A nice pair of casual slacks
9. A pair of jeans that look good with heels or flats
10. A white blouse
 
Good call on the great pair of jeans, and the white shirt.

And her list sounds like a good excuse for a vacation to me!

The SO has at least three LBDs, no ... wait ... I recall a fourth now :raisebro: ..., and for some reason she prefers a black coat, although we once saw a nice orangish trench coat she liked, but when they went on sale her size wasn't available anymore.

I asked her about the sunscreen and she said she tends to stay out of the sun if at all possible anyway. I kind of like the sunscreen idea as a protective measure for the skin over the long haul.
