favorite perfume?

I wore "Eau D'Issey" by Issey Miyaki ever since I bought it back in August. Then lately, while I had been hearing good things about it, one very good friend of mine told me she thinks it's not me. I was boggled by this and have been trying several others for teh past few weeks. I've tried "White Musk" (Bodyshop) and then (my mom's but she doens't wear it) "Armani Mania". I think I'm going back to "Eau D'Issey". Meh. People. What do they know?

If you're talking about "signature" scents, I tend to stick with one for a few years, then move on to something different. My current favourite is Estee Lauder's "Beyond Paradise."

I also make a distinction between daytime and night-time scents. "Beyond Paradise" is definitely a night-time one (or for very special daytime occasions ... hopefully involving a member of the opposite sex...  )

My usual daytime fragrance is "Eternity Moment" by Calvin Klein.

I have been wearing Crabtree & Evelyn's "Extract of Mysore Sandalwood" for 18 years now! It is the only fragrance I will wear.
Mysore on the label is an indicator of its quality, and this isn't the hippy sandalwood you normally think of.

My one complaint is this is the only size bottle I have ever found it in. And it is a bit big and cumbersome to carry around.
Hmmm ... interesting and intriguing. I'm wondering how a woman decides to wear only one?

ya know it may be odd but I guess I think fragrance is a sort of interesting and personal aspect of a person's personality...it intrigues me...sort of like going to a person's home...it can be a little window into their personality...maybe not...just my view
I agree and there are so many things that can be a window into one's personality. Very fascinating (no pun intended), personality, perfume, and scent. I just started reading the book "The Emperor of Scent". So far, very good!

I love a citrus sort of scent as well especially in winter when one needs it...I used to wear something from france in a green bottle that was excellent...lemme think on this....and I got a swatch of something yesterday in the mail that was along those lines that smelled so fab that I kept the swatch...willl get back tp you on that
I'm not big into the citrusy smells. I enjoy flowery, sweet, or spicy scents on a woman. And I like perfumes that seem to be somewhat complex yet well balanced, too.

It also can be compared to ones signature...or style.

I.E. We all know the peple whom say "kiss kiss" instead of good bye

Fragrance is like that as well. We want to find, and if we are lucky we do, the one scent that says "ME."

If we are lucky enough to find it we tend to keep bottles of it stocked up just in case they stop making it. Like they did to me, Sob sob, pout.

And we wear it for years on end because it is "me" and it becomes part of our signature and a lot of the time we don't even think about it.

At least that is my take on it. *shrug*

I like Tresor by Lancome. Hands down, I receive the most compliments when I wear it. Something about it must agree with my body chemistry. :)

I also like the Jasmine Vanilla products by Bath & Body Works, especially their body lotion and body spray. The products smell wonderful, and the scent is lasting. :)

I'm a huge fan of Deneuve, named after the actress Catherine Deneuve. I haven't seen it in the U.S. in years. :( Although I have been told it can still be found in France. Did I say I was a huge fan? Oh yes, right upfront there. :D

I'm also a fan of White Linen. I can pick this scent out anytime I'm close enough to a woman that is wearing it.

Other recent likes include Tresor, Fredrick's, and ... crud, can't recall the name of another, but I'll remember it. Victoria's Secret has three I like, their signature fragrance, Rapture, and ... aah, can't recall the last, bummer. Chanel #5, Chanel Cocco, Joop, ... well, I could go on, but I'm just not recalling other names very well at the moment. ;)

I've been enjoying Tresor quite a bit lately. Somewhat of a sweet and subtle scent. It creates in me a sense of relaxation and comfort.

I like vanilla scents, too, but it's not a top preference. I'm curious and will try to fine time to check the Jasmine Vanilla out when I can.

I'm not a huge vanilla fan, but I like Jasmine Vanilla. The products are part of Bath & Body Works Aromatherapy Sensuality line. The whole line, which includes lotion, body wash and massage oils, is yummy!

I love spicy smells. My all-time favorite is Ginger Milk, by The Thymes. But I never wear it dancing, because my sister has told me it gives her a head-ache and I'm afraid it will affect my partners similarly :( But everyone else loves the scent on me - any thoughts? Should I take a gamble this weekend and wear a little?
