My instructor was trying to describe a particular nuance he likes as “idiosyncratic,” but instead said, “it’s just something idiotic about me.” (He’s Ukrainian and speaks fantastically fluent English, but once in a while, certain words still trip him up. And yes, I am quite sure he did not intend to refer to himself as “idiotic.”)
During lessons, my instructor sometimes gets carried away when we dance. He’ll suddenly start doing things I’ve never seen before, including random open/non-syllabus moves, and dancing with what I’d describe as crazy energy levels. When I asked him recently about it, he said, “I can’t help it! It’s Tourette’s.”

This during rumba walks, my Pro in front of me turned around, watching me.
Pro: "Stop staring at the floor. Look at me."
Me: "Take off your shirt and I'll stare at you all day."
Pro: "Wouldn't you want to stop dancing, though?"
Me: "That was inappropriate."
Pro: "You talk! And stop staring at the floor!"
Me: "Take off your -"
Pro: " Okay, let's take a break. Have some water."
(NO, I'm not always that inappropriate. Only sometimes. And Pro knows I'm only kidding. Even if I probably would stare all day!)

After working on a section of silver smooth tango, Pro described my movement as a little mushy, like an overcooked baked potato, and told me to dance it al dente.
