OTOH, most of the level 2 Japanese placings are taken, so only the bad classes are left. So I have 3 hours of lectures that start at 8am Thursday.
Debating whether to move up a level...level 2 if scored 16/20 or below, level 3 if scored 17/20 or above...I got a 16, but it was scaled up to a 17.

And the level 3 classes are so much more...available.
Oh well, will talk to someone in the know.
Yes, do talk to someone who knows more than I do. But me, I'd say that it depends how confident you are in your language-learning ability. If it's something you're good at and/or you're willing to put extra time into, it could be really rewarding to go with the higher level. But if you think you're going to be lost, better to suck up the scheduling inconvenience.

lol go ahead, call me delusional, but it really happened. Her name was Clarissa. Who is named Clarissa? You can't make that up!

Found my uni's equivalent of CCM's Walk on the Wilde Side course...It's called "Icons of Decadence", and is about sexuality and gender in literature.

Have to wait until next year to take it though.

Appleton Rum and fresh mint. I actually toured the Appleton distillery when I was in Jamaica. Lightweight tourists were afraid to try 160 proof right out of the vat. I, on the other hand...

Question for The Void Which Contains Persons More Gifted Than Myself in the Writing Arts:

When did it become acceptable to speak in the first person in a formal paper? Or did I miss some critical distinction back in middle and high school about when it was permissible to use first person and when it is not?

I swear to god, I worked rather hard at stripping out and/or reworking any sentence that used first person from this paper...and I'm getting slammed left and right for using passive voice. OK, I get that passive voice is another big no-no (although why, I have no idea, since I think it sounds much better actually)...but I've never figured out how to eliminate first person perspective while still talking about what we did without using passive voice.

Suggestions? Thoughts? Something I've missed?
