Happy and/or Random Thoughts #3

As a fellow super-fair skinned individual, could you share the name of the palette? I'd like to check it out.

MAC "Prissy Princess" palette. The MAC Cosmetics website lists it as an online exclusive, but I bought mine at an Ulta Beauty that carries MAC. The reviews online were mixed.

There's another palette I've seen MAC "Basic B I T C H" (not making this up, probably going to get moderated), which features grey toned eyeshadows. If I were going to buy another palette, it would probably be this one. This palette is also featured on the MAC Cosmetics website as well, and the reviews online were great.

Hope that helps.

Also a comment - I buy makeup in person - not online - I need to see the colors in person...

And final random thought...it's Friday, which means social dancing is tonight...thing is, I've had a long week and I'm tired...not sure I have the energy to go out...have a brand new dress from Macy's and jewelry ready to go at home...but all I really want this evening is sleep...

This is my challenge every Friday night (well, except for the brand new dress part). I sometimes take a short nap before getting ready, 30 min plus or minus, and I find that helps. Otherwise I will just fall asleep on the couch, or be way too sleepy by the time I need to leave.

Nah, it's only a hoarding problem.

It's more like, I go through a lot of water bottles, either at work, the gym or dancing, and the empty bottles tend to accumulate in the car. All are now in the recycling container for tomorrow's pickup. And that's where any more empty bottles immediately go, instead of hanging around the passenger side floor mats.

I ended up going out Friday night, got a lot of compliments on the dress and necklace, but didn't stay long. This Friday, I'm going to try to get a nap in after I get home from work. Hope it helps.

Last Friday I napped for about an hour and fifteen minutes after I got home from work. While I was a little groggy when I got up, I recovered quickly. The nap definitely helped. I'm not sure about going out dancing this Friday, as my left ankle is bothering me a bit, but if I do I'll try to squeeze in a short nap before hand.

There is a high likelihood I'll go binge dress shopping either this weekend or next weekend. I've been eyeing an aubergine floral dress and a black and cobalt blue floral dress with bell shaped sleeves. You can never have too many dresses! I've seen several aubergine items in stores already, so I'm thinking it might be one of the "in" colors for fall.

I've also been wearing more dresses to work lately; it started as a way to get my money's worth out of them. Then I figured out it's easy to get ready for work, and I generally get compliments when I wear them. Today it was a navy and white medallion print dress. I just toned down the accessories for work than from when I've worn the dress out.

If I do go shopping, I'll try to keep the damage to a minimum. Maybe one or two dresses, and possibly a pair of shoes. That's not so bad. ;)

So, I went shopping over the weekend, but didn't buy either aforementioned dresses. The aubergine dress didn't have a great fit, and I couldn't find the black and cobalt blue floral dress. I bought a black and white leafy print dress instead. It's cute, and will be fine for either work or social dancing.

I also bought a bottle of Clinique makeup remover, and the sales clerk gave me two free samples of their new "smart" serums, one for face and one for eyes. Funny, I don't feel any smarter this morning. :)

Dancing with DH today with SOMEONE WATCHING....... and he only made a few mistakes, didn't get tense, and managed to do one of the best quicksteps to date...... smiles all around. Wishing we could do just one competition together but he has :coldfeet: no actually he is just VERY competitive and I think he wouldn't like to come last so chooses not to try.

It took me years to get over trying to be perfect at competitions.

I'm the opposite in that I knew full well that I was going to have a terrible time learning to compete ("What??? There are people WATCHING me dance!?!") so I went into it knowing that the first x number of competitions were going to be royally awful. Plus, I had the experience of sailboat racing. Learning to sail in general involves a huge amount of potential for public humiliation (really, watching people screw up sailing maneuvers is a spectator sport in and of itself), and racing adds in a lot more of that. You expect to suck when you begin. I've assured my teachers many times that I know how to lose. ;)
