Thanks guys :-) Turns out that the job interview was less of a "Do we want to hire this chick?" interview, and more of a "Let's just make sure this girl isn't a complete kook before we hire her!" interview
Muhahahaha, you must have hidden your true self well! ;)

YAY! I got the skirts sewn for my daughter's Rapunzel gown for Halloween. :) I just need to finish the bodice and the belt (which I'm considering changing to a lace-up vest so it looks more like a corset....) I need to buy a blonde wig. We cut her hair off last spring....

Ever notice that when you're really anticipating something happening, it doesn't? (A watched pot never boils?) Or when you're convinced that "A" will occur, "B" does instead?

But when you either forget about it or just say, "Feh! Who cares?" - *boom* there it is.

Went in yesterday and scheduled my showcase for a party in a few weeks. I KNEW pro was going to make me do it at one of our parties, so insetead of letting her just spring it on me last minute, decided I'd ask if I could decide when it was so I could prepare (aka get up the nerve. Maybe in form of liquid courage ;) ) ahead of time.

I've read this news story on MSNBC about "digital dirt". Basically it was about how your online stuff can mess up your professional life (i.e. your myspace page with personal photos). One suggestion they had was to run your name through a search engine and see what comes up. I did so, and to my surprise the search came up with a lot of dance-related stuff. I wonder how it would have affected me if I were looking for a job (fortunately I'm not).

Be kind to your cashiers. No matter how long your day has been or how stressed or rushed you are, I can almost guarantee that our day has been worse.

A "please" or "thank you" and a smile go a long way toward improving some menial-laborer's day.

I think you'd be okay...if anything, it might be a positive if a potential employer saw it. A sense of dedication and hard work in your hobbies could also indicate a the same dedication and hard work in a job! :D

Hmmm...work papers and my Facebook account...not very interesting or incriminating.

It's funny you should mention this tonight, as my sister and I were just talking about a related topic on the phone.

My married last name is reasonably common, so only 2 of the first 10 hits I got on Google are actually me. (One is my work page.) Others include everything from a Christian singer to a movie director.

My maiden name is a bit rarer, but there is an Indiana politician with exactly my name. She even goes by the same nickname. Her husband has the same name as my dad. And...she's a REPUBLICAN! (I'm very much not.) My sister told me that my doppelganger was a delegate at the Republican National Convention, and her Republican boyfriend was quite amused.

In terms of links to dance sites, I don't think the dance thing would hurt you UNLESS the links were to photos of you in revealing costumes and you were applying for a job in a conservative sector.

I just bought a brand new bed for $20!!! Ok... ok... it's not THAT great of a deal... but it's still pretty good. My kids had a fund raiser rummage/bake sale last weekend for their dance studio and one of the dads made a twin-sized head board and foot board for a bed. It's unfinished. He wanted to sell it for $20. My friend from work has a twin sized bedframe that she's going to get rid of, so I can get that from her. My son has a bunk bed that he doesn't like so well anymore... and now that we are in a bigger house, his sister doesn't share his room so he doesn't need the bunkbed anymore. YAAAAY!!!! I only have to finish the wood and he has a new bed!

Anybody know if there is any problem with just stacking two mattresses on top of each other rather than getting a box springs? I bought 2 good quality mattresses for this bed 2 years ago, can I just put one on top of the other and call it a bed or do I NEED to get a box springs.....?

Happy that I don't have lots of money or a big mortgage, I might be able to ride out the financial crisis :-)
