Improper Care of Dance Shoes

A few years ago I used to dance so much that I pretty much wore my dance shoes everywhere I went. It didn't matter if it was raining, and it definitely didn't matter if I wore them outside. I just liked wearing them everywhere I went. Later, I even put street soles on one pair. Does anyone wear their dance shoes everywhere they go?

I never wear my shoes outside unless they are really old and Im getting ready to replace them anyways. Even then I dont wear them outside unless the ground is completely dry and if im only going to be outside for a minute.

[For the record, that was so shocking that it caused me to make my first use ever of an emoticon.]

I used to wear my older leather court shoes as street shoes because they were the only heels I was comfortable in. I've gotten out of the habit, but maybe I should go back - my feet would probably hurt less.

I wear my jazz sneakers most everywear, since that's what I've been teaching in lately, and I don't feel like changing my shoes to go on my dinner break. I sometimes wear my ballroom practice shoes outside, but only if it's dry and I'm not walking far. I'll never wear my heels outside, I don't want the soles to get dirty or wet.

Considering that I have started to enjoy dancing in flip flops I don't think that's much of an issue, except perhaps in the winter. Hmm, we'll just have to see what happens when winter comes.

I love dancing in flip-flops occasionally also, but I actually wear flip-flops year -round as long as I dont have to walk in the snow.

I dont wear my shoes outside not bc I'm worried about ruining my shoes but I',m worried about ruining the floor

I am probably showing my age, but how does anyone dance in flip flops? I see the younger girls doing it and I know I would probably fall on my face if I tried it.

hi there! I just bought a new pair of latin dance shoes and they cost me way too much money that I even think twice before wearing them out dancing never mind everywhere else! I don't want to wreck them! :o But now that I have a new pair I can wear my old pair to and from the dances without looking silly wearing non-dance shoes to and from the venue! But the backs of my heels are paying the price for these new shoes because they are not quite broken in yet. Cha cha cha anyone? :!:

the only time i go outside in mine is when its hot on the dance floor and i go to cool down or take a break

Hi Pygmalion, thank you :!: How is Florida doing? Does your yard look like you are having a garage sale from courtesy of Ivan? We in Canada are thinking of you all and wish you the best! :)
