Latest additions to my cd collection worth mentioning are:
Julia Zenko " Tango Por Vos" after hearing her sing on the Electrocutango track Sin Piel I took a flyier with this: Its not a dance cd, but she has an amazing voice, and if you knew that I don't really go for sung tangos.
Aurelio Tango Quartet ( with Gustavo Toker & Juan Pablo Dobal): " two to Tango"; my favourite instrument playing Piazzolla pieces. I don't know if this Dutch quartet is still together but I would love to see them play. The first Cd is Piazzollla and includes Escualo; Contraajissimo; Cuatros Estiacones Portenas; the 2nd CD has pieces by Toker, Dobal and some traditional tangos. What a find!!
Magnetique Tango: Anja Lechner, cello; Peter Ludwig Piano.
All pieces beautifully composed by Ludwig. This is a moody and dramatic CD with the spirit of tango or maybe Piazzolla captured and crafted.
