Kelly Monaco, Dancing With The Stars

Just saw the cover of Maxim Magizine, featuring Kelly onaco, "Summer"s Hottest Star Sweeps Us Off Our Feet". The pictorial is hot and Kelly looks fab. The interview is interesting for the fact that the interviewer, Eric Gillin,
does a fairly decent job of asking the questions, and Kelly did a great job with her answers. Two of the more edgy question were, "Were there any romantic sparks between you and your partner" Kelly answered that "Alec is a gentleman, an extemely sophisticated, smart young man. Never once did I feel violated or any thing we were doing was inappropriate or uncalled for. He was extremely professional".

Then the interviewer asked Kelly, But that GREASY RUSSIAN had his grubby hands all over you! Kelly then gave a great answer to that question. She said "If that's what the audience is seeing , then we did our job well. That's what these dancesare about- the passion the lust and the vulnerability. If they're seeing that and want to be in his position, that's wonderful. I think I'm conditioned from being in this business, especially on soaps, because it's just part of the job".

Way to go, Kelly!

Pretty cheap trick to have her interview with Maxim right before the dance-off, btw. Bouncing boobies strike again. :?

Great interview questions. (sarcasm implied) Let's insult a huge part of the world's population and be completely ignorant of who makes up the art of ballroom and latin dancing.

Talk about perpetuating outdated, bigoted stereotypes. :headwall:

I'm not Russian, or a man, nor do I dance latin competitively, and I am completely offended by that jackasses question. Why do they allow people to conduct interviews when they have no idea what the HELL they're talking about?

Way to go, indeed. I;m sure Eric Gillin be nominated for some kind of prize for his journalistic depth. If that's doing a "fairly decent job" then what does he have to do for it to be deemed a bad job?

i sort of see your point but keep in mind that Maxim doesn't really um shoot for the high journalistic standards. the entire publication is founded upon an insulting view of women, so that somebody said something derogatory about an entire nation of people shouldn't really suprise :)

I've never "read" the magazine.

Why are there so many cavemen with access to the population.......?

Agreed... I wasn't aware that there are articles in MAXIM... I usually only saw pictures...

Kudos for Kelly for not pandering to the interviewer/reader and giving honest and thought-out answers. Did the interviewer really say "greasy russian"? That's just awful. yech.

It might be worthwhile to try see past the pictures of the beautiful women, and actually read the magazine? Maxim is about making fun of itself, popular culture, and above all, men. You can find all sorts of unflattering terms describing men there, and some of us who actually read it find it quite funny. I’m not completely sure that it has offended men of every possible background yet, but I think they are getting pretty close. Some of the most intelligent beautiful women I know read Maxim, and they had subscriptions for Maxim longer than I did. Maybe they are not blinded by the pretty pictures and actually got the humor?
