Looking at cleavage

Point taken, but something like this is a bad move because if anything it's interpreted more easily literally and is taken as being the opposite of witty. Occasionally my sense of humour gets the best of me and I particularly love one liners and something like that would've definitely stirred my creativity so to speak.

She is rather proud of hers - and she is also very smart brain wise and she has the confidence to not really care what anyone thinks. Thus, in a sense this shirt was made for her :)

Sorry, I was not really referring to you specifically just exploring the concept in the general case by asking the question. Let me put it this way instead, in my case the creep threshold (duration of look if you like) is definitely considerably higher for a tall, good looking, confident, italian hombre than for the hunchback of Notre Dam. I'm sure thats not fair, nice or whatever but it is how it is and I am rather astonished that others could be so non-discriminatory on the subject.

There again (and this is an important difference), I'm er, on the small side, and probably not so sensitized, at least with respect to the theme of this thread :D
I have found some very average but nice men inadvertantly checking me out and had no problem with it...I have had some really hot guys who are known to be players with only one thing on their mind who I have had to send packing...that's fairly discriminating in my mind, just not on the basis of looks

Sending them packing is not discriminating?

Maybe they were sincerely appreciating your looks . . . had no other intentions???

Guess they wouldn't be straight, eh?

huh...i just don't get the problem with men looking, leering or otherwise. wouldn't occur to me to be offended or send anyone packing for that. but must be a cultural/mediterranean thing...socially acceptable behaviour in the states differs from in greece, italy, and similar places.

when a dude moves from looking to leering to licking his lips to ignoring the wedding ring that I point out, to touching...I don't really care how hot he is...he will be sent packing...not sure that's cultural...some guys don't intend to stop at looking and if I send a go away signal, I expect it to picked up on... I am not exactly subtle ...but hey, to me there is a difference between a look and a leer...and it isn't about my culture and it isn't about how hot the guy is or isn't it is about how bold he is and where he clearly intends to go from there with it...as I stated in my post...men clearly known to be players

oh well...touching...whole other matter, fasc.
well see...that is the crux of it...there are a certain percentage of them who insist upon pushing it....and whose look pretty nearly tells you they are going to......and I have literally shown up to a place or two with girlfriends and had to be out and out rude in order to get a few guys to appreciate that I seriously didn't appreciate them...that is all...and I think that is why this topic can be so loaded...we all come to it with experiences...some extremely pleasant:cool:(and I will save and treasure those privately)...some extremely un pleasant:mad:...and a whole bunch that are ambiguous:confused:...so we are all bound to have different approaches to the whole thing

Crimey...this thread is still around?!?! LOL.

Well...I think you're all right. (How's that for fence-sitting?)

I definitely think there's a huge difference between looking and leering. I'd be lying if I didn't admit that the attractiveness of a guy can (not always, but can) play a role in how I perceive a look/leer. How a guy reacts if "caught" looking can be a huge factor--does he look abashed or sheepish, or not. Culture can definitely play a difference--I've noticed a definite difference in Italy and Argentina, and with Latino men (not meaning to be rude--mods, feel free to censor).

I can appreciate a look. How I, or any other girl dresses, does play into it. It can be anything from feeling good and wanting to look sexy on a Saturday night (in which case, if we admit it, we're dressing to attract attention to some degree)...to dressing differently when it's hot...to not realizing what was going to end up showing while dancing...to deliberately showing off the goods. We'd be fools to "put them out there," so to speak, and then get upset at the slightest look. (Heck, I look, and I'm straight. The eye gets drawn to certain things, what can I say?)

...but that doesn't mean we've signed away all rights to feel upset or violated if a guy takes it too far...however we define it. But we do need to recognize that how we dress plays a role in that. If the look is uncomfortable to us, there's nothing wrong with speaking up...at which point, if it doesn't stop, we have every right to get upset. If a guy crosses the line into touching we have every right to get more than upset. If we're pointing out a wedding band and telling the guy to back off...um...wow.

Bottom line, IMO, as others have said--there's such a huge range.

which reminds me...dtr looks at me in new latin outfit (did I already mention this?) and goes "gosh mom, it that was cut symmetrically you'd have plumbers crack"...I almost died...eeesh...starvation diet til ohio...

Heh, second time you mentionoed that in this very thread (I THINK, know you mentioned it before), but still makes me laugh. Saw some dresses like that at our last comp.
