I’m fascinated by this idea of the dirt or filth in the dance.
Tango Mugre – Leo y Flor Tango
The notion that on top of the technical bits there can also be this drive to be gritty and emotional and more “street”. I don’t hear a lot of the instructors mention or work with the emotional aspects of the dance. And it seems like a lot of the technique classes deal with repetition and doing things perfectly but not with accepting mistakes.
Are there any good discussions on this aside from “go to Buenos Aires, ideally with your time maxhine and experience it because it can’t be taught?”. What are some things that you do to keep your dance real and grounded?
