Anyone going? I'll be there this year for the first time. Nervous, since this will also be my first comp since last May. Wondering if I'll see any familiar faces?

Yup. JudeMorrigan will also be there. It'a a great comp. And David Hamilton treats Am/Am entries better than any other NDCA comp we've been to.

Yup, I'll be there dancing in bronze smooth and silver standard. I'm particularly excited about getting to dance standard pro-am again. And being eligible to compete in B scholarships.

Not sure. Trying to gather a convoy, but organizing dancers is like herding cats, so... we'll see. (Spectating, not competing.)

Thursday day session, rhythm, so far so good. In the snowballs-in-hell department, I placed first in a contested salsa.

Well, the rust is showing - both in rhythm and especially comps in general. But day 2 should be better. Yay for smooth!!

Curses, the elusive pro-am scholarship win continues to elude me. And barring my winning the lottery and taking up rhythm, I think I'm now done with bronze on the pro-am front. Meaning it's going to continue to elude me. Alas!

(To be very clear, I'm being silly and not *actually* whining about placing. )

Your peeps are absolutely right about the level of competition - lots of very talented dancers here at all levels and styles. It's tough, but nice to see. It is a nicely run comp, and we are definitely treated well! Good luck to everyone here!

Getting my rear end kicked by Shalene Archer's student. It's all good, though. If you're going to fight with the big boys, you have to expect to take some punches.

Well drat. Smooth day did not go all that well. Placed third in all of my pro-am heats (out of three couples). Didn't get a callback in scholarship. On the somewhat good side, DW and I placed first in all of our am couple heats, although we had no competition.

Don't feel bad cornutt, I got my butt kicked for two days straight! On the plus side, it was really nice to meet you in person!

I did manage to go out on a high note, the one placement in a scholarship being a real success, at least in my own mind.
