OK, silly question here. When I register as a pro-am competitor, do I need to use my full legal name (e.g. "Katherine" - not my real name, btw), or is the nickname I go by OK (e.g. "Kathy")? I assume that whatever name you list is how it will appear in future programs/heat lists. Up to this point I've always been listed under my nickname since my full name only gets used in "official" capacities (medical, financial, etc). TIA.

When you register I think you can supply your "name" and "any other name". So you can be "Kathy Kinkade" and for "any other name" you can put in "Katherine". Other name is used for search purposes. If you search the registrant list (for instance search for Sasha), you'll find people have done it both ways, so I don't think it matters. Assuming they treat Pro-am registration similar to Am-Am registration, there shouldn't be any link between your NDCA registration name and comp registration name (which is what will show up in programs and heat lists, so you can be Katie Kinkade, Kitkat Kinkade and Kathrine the Great in three different comps). I don't know if they will enforce registration any differently, but I believe it's just a matter of you or your instructor putting down your registration number.
