My next competition isl New York Dance Festival--Valentine's Day.I'm actually excited about it, rather than anxious, which is very unusual for me. OK, unheard of. The only thing I can find to worry about is if/when I'm going to get anxious about it.

Discovered that, while you can work on stamina by doing round after round after round, we didn't do that enough, apparently, because the heat list for this weekend is up, and we're on the floor for 17 dances in a row - and one of them is a quarter-final. Back to back heats, three- or four- dance challenges, so we'll never leave the floor.
Two months before comp = Yay! We'll get to dance so much!
24 hours before comp = What was I thinking? WE'RE GOING TO DIE.
Depending on how big that quarter is, they may divide it in half. So first half of the couples in the quarter does the first dance, then leaves the floor. Second half of the couples in the quarter does the first dance, then leaves the floor. Repeat for the other dances. No guarantees it will go this way, but there's a chance, at least.
And as for the rest, it may not be ideal, but you will be OK. Good luck!
Just grab lots of water in between, shake it off, and make yourself do it. And try to stay relaxed as possible - it's easy to tense up in effort to keep things in frame and whatnot, and that is exhausting. It will - they've posted that alternating heats - THANK GOD WE"RE IN ROUND TWO!!! - but still... I've packed a defib, oxygen, and an IV unit...![]()
