Returning to the dance studio safely (covid-19)

After talking to a couple of dance friends last night, I discovered that there are two dance studios that have been operating for a month at least, but only for floor or room rental. Independent teachers have been renting the floor. Maybe there are some legal interpretations that would be different, but as far as I know then studios are not allowed to operate right now. I somewhat expected this is probably fairly widespread. What do you think?
 
As someone who is dancing at dance studios, one opened two weeks ago, another open this week. The rest is opening in 1.5 weeks. I see the rules being set "masks, etc, etc" quickly being discarded. Because humans are humans.

On social media, we are perfect social distanced, masked people, virtuous, always posting pics that are approved by society. Setting our profile picture to black. Doing the requisite donations.

If you are in a vulnerable population *and* really worried about the covid, you shouldn't go to the dance studio. Period.

You don't know where your dance teacher went last weekend, and you don't know if the previous couple had worn a mask or not.

People want to "live the life." They really do. But then in a moment of weakness, "**** it!!!"

As for me being the perfect model on social media: No, I can be quite the stinker! (But not here. Not on THIS forum.)
 
Orlando Dance Classic is on for mid-July.
-face masks optional
-all spectator tickets must be reserved in advance
-no Saturday daytime tickets will be sold on the weekend of the comp

Local studio
-no walk-in, all entry by appointment only
-face covering with exceptions for medical conditions/disabilities (must be cleared with staff prior to arrival)
-hand sanitizer available
-commonly touched areas to be disinfected every hour; private studios available for 50 minutes out of every hour to allow for disinfecting
-no water fountain
-private studios, 4 person maximum
-main floor (3,000 sq. ft.), 8 person maximum
-allowed to stay no more than 15 minutes before and after a private lesson

Tango practica at local studio
-2 rooms, 10 person maximum each
-encouraging BYOP and not switching
-but may change partners only if both parties feel comfortable
 
My instructor told me at yesterday's lesson(s) that masks are now optional. We both wore them, though, as did the two other instructors and the receptionist who were there. The other instructors taught a virtual lesson during one of mine, but otherwise I was the only lesson on the floor during the time I was there.

I'm also glad that I took the initiative to clarify that I was not planning to do the showcase that has been moved to the end of the month... instructor either had forgotten I said that previously (I'm going to give the benefit of the doubt that this is the case) or is under pressure from management to recruit students to participate. He seemed a tad disappointed. Frankly, I don't want to spend the money (since I assume it will have the same pricing as usual) when it's questionable if it will be as big and satisfying of an event as normal, and I don't have 100% confidence that we're in the clear even though my state's cases/deaths have been mostly flat for a while. With my luck there would be some crazy spike a week beforehand and a new lockdown and then I'd just have money on deposit at the studio, lol.
 
CleanPrecise removed masks for students this week. Instructors have to continue wearing them. They have a competition in a month that will be a mix of Virtual/Real-life because some of their studios are opened and some are still closed.

WarmFuzzy Chain has released their calendar of events and real life competitions begin the end of July.
WarmFuzzy Studio is still masks, and no touch officially.
 
Gah, i can't imagine not wearing a mask at a lesson right now. There is a push for competitions in September, but i don't know how that will be allowed, since our state will still be limited to gatherings under 50. I'm still uncomfortable thinking about competing so soon.

I will offer makeup services, but only because i've been taking training on sanitizing and disinfecting, and i can limit the number of people at a time, and wear a mask the whole time.

large group gatherings still give me the heebie jeebies.

I'm super uncomfortable with using the crowded ladies room nearest any competition ballroom while wearing a complicated ballroom dress!!! At my previous competition, I got help and gave help to others zipping, snapping and so on. The front area by the mirrors was crowded.

Sadly, renting a room far away isn't extremely attractive either. I don't want to have to walk a long distance, take an elevator, go to the room, go to the bathroom, rezip.... snap... and so on. That means I'm just sort of not seeing harvest moon as an option until I see case and death rates drop precipetously. They've been dropping s_l_o_w_l_y.

This might not help the "proximity" aspect with regard to being in the changing room with others, but as a way to address the "length-of-time" aspect, what if you wore a less complicated dress? There are some quick-on-quick-off options that don't require assistance from others.

(I get that it isn't everyone's cup of tea to simplify costuming, but to accommodate covid-related concerns, it's just a suggestion.)
