Right age to start AT?

I wish I could find the thread/clip of some little girl dancing with her dad. So absolutely adorable. No, she doesn't have any understanding of life and love and heartache and blah blah blah...but it's a very touching video of a little girl dancing real AT with her father.
I'd say she started at a good age.
I thought about that clip when I posted about the young kids not understanding, blah, blah, blah.
My reasoning for maintaining my opinion despite that beautiful clip is that there is a huge difference between 2 kids dancing together mimicking a grown up dance style choreographed on them, and a child dancing with a trusted adult where the adult is creating the dance in the moment in a way that takes who the child is into account.
The child in the video may not have an adult's understanding of pain and sorrow (although she might.. we don't know) but she has an understanding of her own bond with her father, and that is who she is dancing with in what I assumed was a spontaneous lead/follow dance.
The two videos and situations really have almost nothing in common.

Why the focus on Heavy Metal as the alternative? It's not as though these are our only choices.
However, since you brought up metal, I can say that sometimes Metallica speaks to me and expresses how I feel in a way that nothing else does. And when it does, nothing else matters
To you it is just noise, but that is a subjective assessment because metal simply doesn't speak to you. To me it perfectly expresses my darkest times. The nightmarish song Sandman captured something I'd felt and never found in music (although the experience that drove the creation of the song might be quite different from the experiences I've had that make me appreciate it)
Although I'm not an expert in metal, and Metallica is more like metal for an older generation (I'm 50) believe me, I can feel some of those songs in the very core of my being just as well as the milongueros feel golden age tango music. It's not just noise; it's some of the rawest emotion to be found in music.
Of course, that doesn't mean I'd tango to it...
tango music ("That horrible noise") sounds like copulating cats, and would I please turn it off.

He goofed up my plans of him getting a full scholarship. They only give financial aid based on income. I jokingly tried to bribe him to go to a lesser school that gives scholarships, (I told him I'd buy him a new car if he went to UMass instead).If he didn't damage his brain listening to heavy metal he might have gotten into a good school...

Bagpipes are indeed uniquely vile. One of the well-known definitions of a 'Gentleman' here, is 'a man who can play the 'pipes, but who doesn't'.
I'll dance to Metallica, for preference.

I dont see why heavy metal shouldnt elicit being present in the body any more than tango.
I would venture that metal has more in common with Hall of the Mountain King, Holst's Mars
or Night on a Bare Mountain, or Ride of The Valkyries for its expression of power and movement. But some metal freak will no doubt argue about what constitutes metal anyway.
I've certianly been taken to other places in rock gigs (except Genesis where I just wished I was in another place)
If for instance you look up the number of covers of Metallica songs its pretty amazing, often in different musical genres

@zoop. The heavy metal reference immediately made me think of Nothing Else Matters as well.
@btm Funny you should mention this. I heard a story on National Public Radio yesterday? the day before? about a classical girls choir from Belgium that covers rock tunes, including a hauntingly beautiful rendition of Nothing Else Matters.
