Sprucing up my Standard gown - sewing questions!

Yes the body fabric and sleeves are the same fabric as the sleeves. I just cut the little squares out of the fabric. There are also light purple underskirts with light purple horsehair braid 3 inches. You can see it when I spin. I can imagine a beautiful dress with this fabric by layering and perhaps making the sleeves being nude. Hi Everyone, I am not sure how to do this but can I sell my shoes here? I think I am getting a bunion on my left foot so these 2 shoes are too tight near the toe for me? Rayrose.com/ladies-ballroom. They are lightly used. 99 euros is $110 I can sell them for $80 each. Let me know.

Since this has become the general sewing question thread...
I think it's time for a new latin costume. Two questions:
1) has anyone done the draped leotard approach? I am trying to figure out about how much fabric, and tips for draping / how to cut it out, etc.
2) Since I'm not a 25 year old latin pro, I am also wondering how to modify that look so that the first 6 inches of thigh are covered most of the time. A few years ago people were doing a skirt on the bottom half and draping on the top half, but my teacher commented that he likes the long draped look.
Any comments or suggestions would be much appreciated!

Have you got pictures of ones that you like? There are some beautiful designs around. I like this one, for example, which I thought could start with a triangle....

I was asked to do this for my female dance teacher. They bought a rectangle and they draped it on. They pinned it to the nude body suit in the places that needed to be held and I cut it where they wanted it cut (they just drew on lines while it was on her). I hemmed the edges but it was really simple. Although I didn't make the draping choices.

One of my female coaches was wearing one at the comp Saturday - she had taken one piece of fabric and draped it from shoulder to hip and back to shoulder again - but that left her entire leg exposed on one side (looked totally awesome on her of course!)

Well I've just ordered 5 yards of red powermesh from an online vendor at a very low price per yard. It will be interesting to see if it meets expectations. Once I have it in hand I will experiment with draping it on my dress form
As I see it the considerations / options are:
for a one shoulder drape design over a leotard:
a. drape attached at the shoulder or is allowed to 'fall off' the shoulder - no decision yet.
b. the drape is the dress (but probably showing too much leg for optimal presentation) OR the drape attaches to a skirt of the same fabric (probably with an interesting angled rhinestone 'belt' as the transition. This is the direction I am planning on.
c. The skirt: two pieces of fabric (front and back) with slits up the side OR a 4 or 6 gore skirt that flares. I'm leaning toward two piece skirt at the moment.
d. My pro said he would like to see me in a longer costume, so I need to figure out how to fasten the skirt up for jive and have it look good.
e. embellishments: today's costumes are MUCH more elaborate than those of ten years ago. I need to feel like I fit in but still suit my own taste. In real life I prefer solids with interesting accessories over patterns.

For short, wide ladies, with long torso and short legs, how to give flyaway body to hem of a Standard gown, without looking like a torso on a teeepee?
Does anyone have an image of a Standard gown with float attached center front - to- wrist, and center back to other wrist? I swear I've seen it somewhere, but can't find it.
