I have been designing with the "Canvas workspace" programme online - part of the Brother scan n cut stuff. Heaps of fun. It even counts the number of stones in different sizes

Anyone have a good source for crinoline/horsehair trim that is a color match for Swarovski light Siam? I want a clear red, not an orange tone.

For my red dress which is stoned with Preciosa light siam, I got the "red" horsehair from Top Trimming (through Amazon, but they also have their own website). It does maybe lean a bit more orange than the dress, but it works well. (Closeups of horsehair and stones from the same picture, in the hope they help with color matching.)

I get my horsehair from a hat supply website: http://hatsupply.com/horse_hair.htm
It doesn't look red on the website, but what I received is a true red, no orange/yellow overtone. My red dress is a true blue red and it matched perfectly.

I want to have a try at making a Latin skirt for practicing in. Any one got any ideas what material is used for them? Spandex/Lycra? What else? Has anyone ever tried burn out velvet? There sure are some pretty fabrics in that. Not so many here is lycra, they are mostly just plain colours.

Now I am thinking about stoning the sleeve and neck edges, and maybe some kind of belt stoned in the same colours? I'm not much good at zippers so the back is a little loose. Plus the belt would give the eye a break from the busyness of the ruching and skirt pattern
