Yeah, I hadn't been too sanguine about the odds.

As I think I mentioned upthread, he has been coughing really horribly ever since Ohio. He also had been feeling really run down. (And yes, he has been to the doctor, who gave him an antibiotic. Can't say I noticed much of a difference.)

The event was energizing, though, so we stayed until almost the very end. (We skipped out just before the latin awards, as we had to catch an NJ Transit train back to Princeton.)

:cry:I am also a DFer in Pre-Champ standard.....

I'm sorry! Had I known, I would have directed him your way as well.
I'm also confused, as you seem to be listed as couple 336 in the program and I don't see 336 listed as a couple dancing pre-champ standard. (This program lay-out wasn't the easiest for me, though I definitely see how it saves paper and printing costs.)

Next time, come introduce yourself if you want to. I'll be the Jewish college professor chick with the curly black shoulder length hair probably sitting next to the man with glasses and a large camera. My real name is Becky.

My dancing at comp was less that amazing, some of it was the best I've ever done with my partner and it all was fun, but my technique needs work. The usual large bronze heats happened, battle tango included, and I nearly threw my partner into the audience when I slipped during vwaltz but there weren't major mishaps.

I loved the showcase quickstep, especially seeing the charleston in it. That one definitely deserved the standing ovation. I don't have much to comment on the show between nodding off and sitting behind some rather tall gents.

I haven't been here long enough to spot DF'ers on the floor but I had to cheer for my teachers/ta's/whoever my partner wanted me to anyway. Is either part of couple 253 on DF?

oh yap, Yuan is the pround 1st place winner of pre-champ std. Hopefully this can help ccm & ccp and other photographers here to identify him and shoot pics of his great dancing next time:)

I laughed out loud at the thought of the afterparty. That's a pretty original idea, I must say, and had it not been mid December (aka finals season for students), I definitely would have ventured out to get a free drink. I won't be at MAC but can I still go to that afterparty?

Or maybe you have seen it and the dress color is not actually yellow, but it appeared that way to me in the lighting!

Wish you could have been there too. Have you seen these Slavik and Hanna showcase numbers before? I'd be interested to hear which is your favorite.

10th number was Arunas and Katusha's waltz. The song had the line "Canta la musica" in it. (And I don't seem to have written anything else down.)
"Amore E Musica," by Russell Watson. It was trimmed down a bit, though if you were unfamiliar with the song it might have been undetectable.

Larinda already I.D.ed the quickstep title.
