Studio Name

My teacher is opening his own studio and needs to come up with a name for it. He asked me to come up with some ideas, but I'm having a complete brain fart. Does anyone have some good ideas? Thanks in advance!

ooo- and my friend suggested calling it "Results- NO Excuses"- LOL! While that would describe my teacher's methods perfectly, it's not very catchy-- hehe

Who is his target audience? "Champion Dancesport" will appeal to a different group than "PartyTime Dance Center."

Lol... well, I would go to both places personally but of course for different reasons lol. They both sound like great places to be at in other words lol! ;)

I see what you mean...something more middle of the road would be good. The thing is that- as someone mentioned on another thread- he's one of those people who's an amazing dancer and teacher, but knows nothing about marketing and such. In this area, most, if not all of the studios cater to mostly an older demographic of primarily social dancers, and some who do pro/am since a lot of older people live here. At the same time that I know there's a lot of money in general in targeting that same older audience, there's no point to competing over the current dance population here, and I think there's a wider audience to go after in offering something different. I think something like "Champion Dancesport" is perhaps too far to the other extreme, but more of something in the middle- something more inclusive and general would be good.

Not that I suggest stealing any of these names, but here are names in use in our local part of the world, in case they can serve as fuel for a brainstorming:

Renaissance Ballroom Dance Studio

American Style Ballroom Dance Studio

Academy of Ballroom Dance Studio

Stardust Ballroom Dance Studio

Ballroomdancers.com has a directory of studios with quite a few entries. You could browse there for ideas. There's probably no problem duplicating a name as long as it isn't in use near you (well, I wouldn't go with "Arthur Murray" ;) ).

What about the, name of your city here, Ballroom Academy. That's pretty basic. I don't know exactly what he teaches, but he could change Ballroom to Latin etc., or he could put Dance Academy to where he can focus on different kinds of dances. ;)

Paradise Ballroom

(I don't like names that attach the 'dance studio' words to the end, and use the word ballroom. It sounds nicer to just use one or the other)

When picking a name it should be short and and easy to remember. Also in today's web age it should be easy to spell as a URL and have the dot com available. This is not easy.

At godaddy.com heeltoedance.com is available. Boogieshoes.net and .org, but NOT .com are available. Also available in .com,.org, .net is TwinkleToesDancing.

just some ideas

You guys are awesome! I am compiling a list to send to my teacher. I have to e-mail it either today or tomorrow since he called me last night to tell me he needs to send the name in a couple of days- leaving things as usual for the last minute- lol! I really appreciate all the ideas and any more are welcome :D
