SYTYCD09 Week 4

Karla/Vitolio doing a Quickstep? Damn, I have a feeling that's going to be rough.

We get to see Phillip do Hip Hop finally, maybe this time he won't totally butcher the dance.

Brandon/Jeanette doing a Cha Cha. I have a feeling that it won't be a very good Cha Cha, but the judges are going to give them amazing marks either way. They're kind of biased towards their favorite dancers in a pretty obvious way.

I have no doubt that the Pas de Deux by Melissa/Ade will be AMAZING though. Melissa is a ballerina after all, and Ade is pretty damn good (one of the best guys I think).

I'm looking forward to this one!

I agree on Melissa and Ade; can't wait to see their routine. It appears Mia is judging this week, though--so we'll see how it all goes down for Brandon, since he's definitely not HER favorite.

Wow...I thought that Brandon was amazing in the cha cha! Love, love, LOVE a ballet guy's posture! He really seemed to get into it especially there at the end and of course Jeanette was great too...loved her outfit. Dont know about the technique because I'm no expert, but thought it looked fantastic.

Kayla/Kupono: Love these two but the routine was weird. Dont know if ppl will vote for it or not. I kind of liked it though....guess they just managed to "sell" it really well!

Randi/Evan: Not a bad piece but I figured out what made me not like it was the constant use of balled up fists and the gloves...not an Evan fan but do like Randi.

Jason/Kaitlin: Alien impregnating theme was a little weird, but they did good with what they were given. Thought they really committed to it but not my fav routine at all....

ah ha ha ha ha! Kat's comment was hilarious! Nigel said Kaitlin looked like a dancing condom she was so covered up and without missing a beat Kat said, "Safety first, Nigel. Safety first!"

Jason/Katlin's routine looked a little chaotic to me. Maybe because of Jason's costume. Katlin's costume reminded me of Ilya and Nadia's transormer routine and I was constantly comparing Ilya/Nadia and Jason/Katlin in my mind.

Philip/Jeanine: I'm not a fan of slow hiphop so I didnt really like it but they seemed to do well with it and they look well together.

Melissa/Ade: Of course it was beautiful. Not sure if ppl will vote for them or not, but it was very nice.

Brandon & Jeannette- Cha was great. Jeannette is one foxy mama! I really like these two together, they really have this yin/yang balancing opposites thing going. Great job by them!
Kayla & Kupono- I liked it, very well done by the two of them. I'm very hit or miss with sonja's choreography, but I liked this one.
Randi & Evan- So happy to see someone other than Tasty Oreo choreographing broadway. I never like Broadway, but did like this better than most. Don't know how much it was the choreo and how much it was just that I like the way Randi and Evan dance. Last week I wasn't particularly fond of their choreo but loved the way they performed it. There's something about their dancing that just really appeals to me. It's a feeling that they convey across.

Jason & Caitlyn- Definitely not my cup of tea. And not really fond of how they performed it.

Vitolio/Karla: Liked the routine...dress change was cool....Vitolio had great posture...like Nigel said, it was very entertaining.

Phillip & Jeanine- Was ok. Once again not my cup of tea, but I think they seemed to perform it well. Isn't this already the second time they've gotten hiphop with T&N?

So far, my favorites are Kayla and Kupono. Both of them seem to have versatility that's essential for survival in the show. Above all, whatever dance they do, they dance wholeheartedly and convey the choreographer's intent and go even further.
