I've heard from Deby Novitz that Montevideo's tango scene sucks.
I've heard from Chris jjj that Berlin, Amsterdam, Madrid all have good close embrace communities/dances.
I've heard from Jan Kenyon that the Italians seem to be doing the most exciting interpretations of the close embrace dance:

Tangopilgrim raved about the dancing in Russia, he is a traditional dancer, too.

all over from Budapest, Prague, etc..
I just got an email from my practice partner saying there is a lot of milongas in Athens..
NYC certainly gets raves and Portland has always mantained at least 5 milongas a week...
Of course none of the above yet compares with BsAs which has over ONE HUNDRED milongas a week! Of which all but a very few yet are traditional with line of dance and golden age music.

I've heard that from women who go there regularly....some even bring guys back from there.:cheers:
