Cost of Victoria's Secret underwear: $60
Cost of Cloth and other materials: $20 (heavy discount - got lucky!)
Cost of Swarovski Crystals: $190
Expression on Peoples' Faces = Priceless!

I've still got some stones left to add (note slightly sparce stoning on drapes) but this is basically complete. It's the version of this dress I wore last week. ^_^ The dress form stretches the skirt out in an unflattering lump, and where the drape attaches (at the top of a split at the thigh) is stretched in an odd shape, but regardless of photography issues, I think I've proven what one can do with the help of Victoria's Secret, Gem-tac, and A LOT OF FRICKIN TIME.

It took a fair amount of time to make though, even though it is basically just drapes and ribbons. :( Unless it's some stupidly overpriced number from a designer dressmaker, I think what we pay for these gowns is well worth the cost in hours and hours of labor. It only cost me $270 in materials (and even with the leftover stones I need to add, it still could use somemore stones) but I can understand now why dresses like these seem to start at what they do.

My future plans are to learn a little more about sewing and continue to design my own Latin gowns, but purchase my smooth/standard. I just don't think there is any way I could ever make one of those. So complicated!

very nice, Me. inspiring! bet you look fab in it. :)

congratulations on your hard work & ingenuity!

Amazingly good job! Admittedly, because the bra is so sparkly it looks like there aren't enough stones on the rest of the dress. Love the colour. And I'm glad everyone liked it! 270$ Wow. You're good.

Fabulous job! Now wishing I had the figure to pull off wearing underwear and a couple of napkins!

um... yah, Me... check out your ebay jewelry to see if there's anything there that you might like... lol... ;)

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! I can't believe I did that. Sorry Me. I should have paid attention as to who actually wrote this thread! I'm sorry lol. I didn't sleep very well last night. Can you tell lol? But hey, I'm trying to help you out! I think that what you've made is cool lol! :p

yes, you just proved your comment from another thread... you're in need of a bit more sleep today. ;)

was very sweet of you to promote Me's stuff, though... i thought that very thoughtful.

Hahahahaha. Thanks, but I think that is so funny. And hey, I could have said, yeah whatever you do, don't buy this lol. But when I think that something is cool, I do try to help sell it lol. (Do you see why I like retail, and why I have my own business? I make a good sales person when it comes right down to it lol.) I do think the rainbow necklace would be a neat item to add to the dress. ;)

"bling boobs" LOL!!! I've got to tell my partner that. :D

SPratt that is so sweet of you to plug my jewelry to uh... me? :D I'm happy that you like it. Good references like yours might help me sell a piece or two, which goes into my bling boob fund. ;D

Thanks everybody for the compliments on my dress. ;) I do plan to stone it out a bit more, as the 'bling boob' does make it look a bit sparce. If I had had more time, I would have used blue stones instead of the ab crystals on the drapes... so I'm considering filling out the drapes with a blue stone that blends into the cloth but still sparkles. Or I might use the rest of the crystal ABs I have. Not sure yet!
