Time or money...

Difficult question... very difficult. both would be nice, but I think if I had to choose, would probably go for time

i'm starting to lean towards time as well.

you can always make money... but without time you can't spend it or enjoy it. but you can always enjoy yourself, even without money.

Just curious, why the suddent $$ vs. time question?? Too bored @ work   ?? Too much free TIME??

That's why there's a trade off:

when you have lots of time, little $$, your time isn't worth a lot.

when you have lots of $$, very little time, your time is worth substantially more.

no... i'm at work too much is what came to mind. between my regular job and teaching dance i don't have much time to enjoy life.

i was thinking about not having time to simply be at home and cook a nice dinner; once or twice a week would be nice.

or relax and read a book

or write in my journal

or even talk with my wife!!

We actually talked about this in econ 101 (or is it econ 100??). Think of it as a downward sloping demand curve with the y axis being $$ and x axis being amount of leisure time you have. If you have 1 hr of leisure time, you might place the value as being $1M. As your leisure time increases (ie, for someone who's unemployed), the value they place on time decreases. O.K., i think that's enuf econ for the day....

i remember putting down something like "you can't put a price on human lives" in one of my econ paper and my prof wrote on the side "yes, you can!!"  !!

Apparently, some economist actually did a study to price the value of human lives around the world. I think in U.K., a person's life would be worth about $2M (not too sure about the currency, but it seems quite low to me...).

Any human, or average human :)

average human??

I think it was just the everyday people (presidents/kings/queens are exceptions!)

Time is becoming more of a commodity than money. I now pay someone to mow my lawn. Nice, but a bit embarrassed by it. I just don't have the time I wish to dedicate to such a mundane task.
