Washing machines woes

I think that water doesn't all get rinsed away as easily maybe? Supposedly if you leave the washer door open between loads, it's not as bad...

I've thought about that, but I'm afraid one of the cats will decide to explore, so we keep the door closed. We got something to get rid of the smell, and it worked ... that was quite a while ago and we haven't had to use it again yet.

Moral of the story ... use only HE detergent, and not too much of it ...

The problem with non HE detergent, is it suds up so much it causes problems. Some washers will give you an excessive suds warning, others won't. When I moved a while ago. I had a huge amount of non HE detergent. I didn't want it to go to waste so I did some research, and combined it with borax, and sodium bicarbonate. The exact details are beyond the scope of this bulletin board, but HE detergent is basically low sudsing detergent, and there are ways to convert non HE detergent to HE detergent, but you have to be comfortable with math, and science--I never think the calculations are that bad, but when I try to explain them to a person that doesn't like math, I realize that a lot calculations are just blown by.

Take care, and don't oversuds your washers.
