I really don't have this problem, all I need is a compatible partner and some decent music and everything else disappears. Floorcraft seldom bothers me anymore. I do play in Cambridge from time to time though, nice people

Given such a collection of vinyls, it would be good if, subject to copyright etc, they were expertly transferred to digital for posterity. Unless the master tapes still exist somewhere and can be used. You can never have too many backups of digitals, and the vinyls are more 'archival' material, but the thought of a car-load of vinyls in transit sounds horrifying today. Other than a 'retro', 'nostalgic', 'part of history', 'involved' feel, I'm still missing the interest in vinyls other than as an affectation. But it's good marketing.

For me, this is additionally a sign of knowledge and craftsmanship that would be quite difficult to fake. So at least there's no copied playlist playing. But will that create a significantly better dance experience for me? In general - no.
And let's look at it realistically, if someone would put in the dedicated learning effort, an AI can probably nowadays replace a Tango-DJ - and not only build tandas - except in terms of personal and competent appearance.

Reading the crowd and atmosphere would require quite extensive work on computer vision and other areas, though.
But logistically, there's less flexibility in the tandas than playing digital, and the sound quality is not objectively improved.
Honestly I thought about making a procedural generator for pre-made playlists before, but I play entirely improvised sets according to who is there so it wouldn't be of much use to myself, and I am not sure there really exists a market for such a service.

I supposed that your *why *is about the vinyl collection.
I never asked him but I think that the family history is part of it.
His late parents had for a long time a restaurant dedicated to football and tango. The core of the vinyl collection is from them and Pino has completed it later on according to what is needed today.

Ahh, so there's a history behind this. Interesting about the restaurant. However, DJ'ing with vinyl is rather eccentric in this day and age and not all that useful. Is the sound appreciably better?

I'm not selling anything.
It is not distinguishable from a competently made digital transfer of the same disc. The audio signal was extracted from the vinyl the same way, there's just an extra recording/playback step in the middle with digital but it should be imperceptible with a decent DAC. Difference in the amount of wear and tear on the vinyl might be noticeable though.
