What would be your Stage/Dancing name

If it was regular to have a different name in the dance world, would you do it? What name would you come up with and why. For me I'm torn between two different names. Erin O'Shammy or Hugo Colletta. It's my Irish and Italain side fighting for domination.

I'd take my grandmother's maiden name (Ulevich) so maybe people will think I'm a Russian dancer 8) (I'm Lithuanian by heritage, but my name doesn't reflect that).

Did I know this about you? My maternal grandmother's maiden name was Steckhouse-- Stekauskas before she emigrated and they hacked it at Ellis Island.

edit: She was from Lithuania, too!

I knew I liked you! :)

My grandfather was also from Lithuania, and my name also doesn't reflect that because of the Ellis Island hacking. But my Ellis Island name is SO much better than the original name, that I wouldn't switch it, even to show the Lithuanian heritage. Although I would probably use the root of my first name... Anastasia. Such a pretty name. :)

My mother's entire side of the family originally hails from Lithuania as well, so can I join the club too? :)

Seriously? This is crazy! Growing up I almost never met anyone who is Lithuanian now we're all over the place.

Should we start a club? What color would the little squares be? :)

I never knew I had Lithuanian heritage growing up. I thought that most of my heritage was Russian. Not until a couple of years ago did I find out that my paternal Grandfather was Lithuanian. Pretty cool to learn about just one small piece of my family's history.

Apparently, he and his 10 brothers and sisters escaped during the war in a hay truck when he was about 2 years old. I only ever met one of his siblings, and she passed away a couple of years ago. They are apparently scattered all over the globe. I heard rumors of relatives in Italy and South America. I love to travel. Perhaps I should try to locate them. :)

Yes, let's start a club! I think the squares should be purple. Mainly because purple is the coolest color in the world. :)

well I love my name here b/c it is about waltzing...but if I were to ever change it...like some pros do...I would probably pick something reflective of my Polish/Russian (they all spoke Polish but the birth certificate say Russia)heritage....and something reflective of some waltz

Hmmm, I think green works fine, especially seeing as this was the color of Iveta's dress at Blackpool this year (celarly a shoe in as our spokesmodel, no?). ;)

Yes, I have no objections to Iveta representing Lithuanians! Athough, eventually people might meet me and I'd blow it for the whole country. Ha Ha!!! I just can't measure up.
