Headed to work at 6:10 a.m. Came to a stop light and stopped. Driver behind me starts beeping his horn. Doesn't he see the line of semi's pulling out in front of me? Where does he think I'm going to turn - right into the path of one? Light turns green. Driver starts beeping his horn again. Does he think I don't see it? By then I lose my temper and make an unfortunate gesture that everyone knows.

Dude, if you're in that big a hurry at 6:10 a.m., you should have left earlier.

So annoyed to see nearby diners at a Thai restaurant with all that yummy Thai food order crab Rangoon’s- I know, I know... I should not care what others do. But really?

Massive leak opened up in my bedroom and brought down my shades. My super came to look at it, said he needed to bring in an architect to inspect the area as he couldn't find the cause, and so now I have a massive hole in my ceiling and sunlight streams in at the crack of dawn while street lamps keep my bedroom nice and bright at night.

My yogurt lid just told me "You used to have school bags, now you have bags under your eyes. Au moins, on'a plus besoin de lever la main pour aller aux toilettes."

Translation of the French part: At least, we don't have to raise our hand to go to the bathroom anymore.

WTF, yogurt company. Is that supposed to be funny? Inspirational?

And NO, I DO NOT! (But thank goodness for concealer.)

So, I was supposed to receive an e-mail coupon for a birthday gift for being an Ulta Beauty platinum rewards member (You're a rewards member, Purr?? Really?? I wouldn't have guessed!!). And I didn't receive the coupon. So I called the customer service number, and the representative e-mailed me a coupon for a free IT cosmetics superhero mascara gift and a $10 coupon. It pays to speak up.

I'm not sure if the mascara is just the mascara or a kit of sorts, but either way I'm ok with that, and I'm curious what superhero mascara is. (I'd like the Captain Marvel variety, please. You're out of that?? Oh, well then I'll take the Wonder Woman variety.)

The $10 is great too, because I can select the item myself. I'm going with the eye makeup remover balm that I received a sample a couple of weeks ago.

Power's been out for more than 24 hours, and is apparently likely to be out for at least that long again. All 3 studios I frequent are closed. At least a different location of my gym has hot water, power and internet. I have had a shower and am now charging my cell, so I can keep answering the messages to reassure people I'm fine. And after a bit of a drive this morning and a few long waits, got coffee and gas :)

Feel a little trivial for whining... there was a literal tornado (or several), and at least me and mine are safe and escaped major property damage!

Recently went to a small local competition. I dance pro-am as do three other ladies - all with the same pro. I was only able to dance in int bronze as one of the other ladies had entered full bronze, open bronze and pre-silver. She had started dancing silver last year so I was unhappy that she felt the need to dance bronze at this comp. We were only able to dance in one age group so that meant I got one shot at all of my dances. On top of that, the lady who won all of levels, I found out later, has been dancing for 20 years - - and her pro's business partner was one of the judges - - - arrgh! I've only been dancing for three years so guess I've got a lot to learn as how this all works. I did give my pro permission to slap me up the side of the head if I'm still wanting to dance bronze in another 17 years!

I don't normally disdain Mondays, but today might be an exception...

1. The workout class I normally take over lunch on Tuesdays, and haven't been able to attend for 3 weeks now (since dance lessons keep getting scheduled there), has a sub tomorrow. Boo. The sub's teaching style is very different and not one that resonates with me, so either no workout or need to figure out alternative.

2. Got a call from the resource teacher at school, my son was in trouble for calling another student a derogatory name. I don't want to be one of these "my kid's an angel" or "back in my day" parents, and kids certainly need to learn to behave, but I sometimes think we've swung a little too far in the opposite direction (no room whatsoever for mistakes, and everything's a crisis). I'm also annoyed at the "do you have any suggestions" - dude, you guys are the teachers, you're with him and the other kids 8 hours a day, figure out how to run your classroom and what the rules are and the punishments/consequences (escalating up the chain as needed) and DO IT. Seriously, do I have to do all the thinking even when I'm not there? /rant off.

I had a bowl of chocolate candy outside my door leading up to Halloween. I replenished the bowl a lot, because my coworkers are Reese's peanut butter cup fiends. Well, yesterday the bowl got down to a few chocolate Hershey's kisses, so I pulled the bowl and the little Halloween display up (and hid the few remaining kisses for me!). Today when I come in one of my coworkers asks, where's the candy? My reply - the staff ate it all. I then said I'd have candy out again closer to Christmas.

One coworker brought in candy, but it's not chocolate, and I don't think it's going over well. I'm not paying for the staff's chocolate fix indefinitely.

One staff member brought in Krisy Kreme doughnuts today while another brought in individual Halloween candy bags she had made for each of us. And I'm trying to watch my diet . . .and my willpower is shaky! Guess it is a good thing that I'm planning on going to the gym after work.

The teachers of my weekly group class just cancelled today's class. after cancelling the last week one. And the one of the week before. And the next week one. That's a not-weekly-at-all class.
