yesterday's activities

Saturday felt like a win for the home team...able to finally mop and clean this stinky house which has been languishing in the dark and damp storm aftermath. ...finally able to procure actual food for the recently sanitized empty fridge. TV cable is still out but able to watch a good show on netflix....LUPIN...french dubbed...but worth it...spent this morning outside hacking away at overgrowth and getting long neglected laundry and bills taken care of as well. This derecho was a whole situation. Glad to have my overdue prescriptions plus antibiotics for the incubating chest mucus thingy and hoping it helps with the tooth til tomo appt. About to get out of sweaty stuff, have an iced tea and maybe a cat nap

To you Hoosiers out there – I’m so sorry you’ve been going through such a rough time following the waves and waves of bad weather. I admire your resilience.

I went to my 45th High School Reunion yesterday. Oh, my gosh - 45 years. It was one of those events that makes me feel old-but-not-old. With quite a few classmates, it was easy to strip away the years and see the same young person they were as pre-teens and teenagers. Some classmates I’ve known ever since I was 5 years old. It was a very relaxed atmosphere. (‘Ya know, if you’ve seen what people looked like without make-up every day from Kindergarten-through-Eighth Grade, there’s no point in trying to hide behind a lot of gloss now!)

Activities included a tour of the old high school building, which is now a middle school. It hasn’t really changed all that much – well, except the two pay phones are no longer there.

I would imagine your active lifestyle has put you in pretty good standing in terms of aging... I'm glad you enjoyed the experience

Saturday:
Get brother and MessMan up and moving and off to their reenactment
go back to sleep
Go to birthday party of one-year-old; this is in a friend's back yard, they have a bounce-house water slide, a pool, and a bunch of tents for us old folks but it's fun to see SO MANY happy kids (and I am not a baby person, this is a fluke)
Pick up brother after reenactment
Home; dinner; he's somewhat tired, and before he even gets a chance to finish telling me in detail about the day or talk to his wife on the phone, he's crashed like a felled tree
