I've seen the video, africana, and I have a general picture of the dance. It's just that performance and social usually differ greatly. Think salsa performances and social. Huge differences there.

TE, according to my Cuban friends. that video is pretty much on target as far as authenticity, social or performance wise. Any other Cubanos in the house to verify this? Thank goodness there isn't anyone flying through the air or spinning like a cartoon tasmanian devil all over place. :lol:

geez I've danced son socially AND seen performances so I think I would qualify my recommendation if I didn't think that video would work in general (and trust me I've seen far more salsa social vs performance to know the dif there too! geez)

:? Didn't mean to question you, africana. I was just a bit hesitant if the video is true to social dancing son as well. Since you say it is, I'll be sure to take your word for it.

This was a great thread. I went through and did some blink repair. All the links in the thread should be working now. Unfortunately some sites are no longer working like salsa crazy which was so awesome in its day, so I removed to those.
