You can’t rule out self selection at work. More women who like to lead (and follow) signing up because it was already advertised as a double role event. Or friendly to double tone. Simultaneously discouraging anyone who is single role person from wanting to attend.

Singe-roler are welcome there as partner of a double-roler.
If someone declines a cabaceo, how do you tell if they did that because they wanted an opposite role or because they didn’t want to dance with you
or if they accept do you know for which role they accepted or is it upto negotiation on entering the Ronda? Might need a new set of codigas to avoid all confusion

Inclusive of glaringly obnoxious and highly visible symbols for leads/follows on either side of the nametag, so you can just turn it around whenever you feel like dancing the other role.

Now it's not like a male leader gets ambushed by dual rollers on a regular basis. Maybe he should check his appearance then?
Rather, some dual-rollers prefer to dance with dual-rollers, which I can understand somehow.

I think hosts should keep things simple and skip all the qualifications and the attempt to slice-and-dice these events on the basis of gender preference, etc. It all works out on the dance floor, anyway. Women who like to lead, always invite other women (rarely men but it happens). If the women want to switch roles, they can do so. Same with male-male couples. I see it all the time. After a while, your preferences are known to the other dances. Here I see the next attempt by organizers to deal with double rolers.
Seems to be completely pointless to me, whoever wants to register will register.
But the event makes sense for the organizers, for a budget of up to €26,000 you can definitely organize five milongas without buffet, one of them with a live music trio.

So you have 42.5% leaders and followers each, and 15% double-roles. Leaders tend to sit out more often than followers (in my experience), but will the double-roles step up to balance the role distribution, or are at least a few going to be competing with the followers for the 'best' leaders?
This also brings the problem of people who can dance both roles, but strongly prefer one - they could very well gain entry as a double-role, but may as well be considered a leader or follower. Plus, accounting for mood and music and other factors, double-role dancers' desire to dance either role must be taken into account, so using them to balance roles is not very effective unless they are willing to do so.
I would love to observe or get some data on how this goes, to see if introducing double role dancers into the mix helps with role imbalances, and also if the double role dancers have a strong preference for either role.
I don't think it does, my observation is that they mostly dance the role they feel like dancing at the moment rather than the role that is in short supply at the milonga. (which is fair enough, they're after all there for their own enjoyment)
