Not a huge fan of country, but I like this song a lot.
I come across quite a few people who dislike/hate country music/dancing, but it's
not clear to me if it's because they inherently don't like the music (which spans
many decades and differs widely) or don't care for the genre because they don't
know how to dance/move to it. Music and dancing are usually acquired tastes.
I'm curious how many dancers really don't like
Country Two Step songs like this...

as opposed to a lot of the older (hokey) stuff from decades ago. BTW,
many CW2S songs, such as above, work well/OK for QS also.
Although QS has been my favorite travelling social dance for a long time (because it
"forces" dancers to "use less effort" by maintaining momentum, but not revolve
continuously [and get dizzy and tired] as in VW), there just aren't many dancers
these days that can do/understand decent swinging body flight. CW2S offers
decent (vertical, non-swinging) body flight when some ballroom technique is
infused and dancers can get acclimated much faster because of the simpler
and physically-intuitive motion(s). It's the dance where one learns the need/power
of wind-up and to refine tuning for reducing over/under shoot.
Before I took up Ballroom, I had little interest in Sinatra. But as the dancing
improved, especially when the appreciation of easy swinging motion (which is
really not technically "swinging") and body flight kicked in, Sinatra and FT became
sweet as honey.
I suspect most Ballroom dancers would enjoy country given enough exposure,
especially since W, Cha, and ECS are already part of the deal.
