Do you give lessons in arrogance? I'd come!
Hmm..now there's a thought for some extra dosh - hee-hee.
You're right. You are.![]()
Would it be arrogant of me to say..."I know". Ha, ha, ha. Wheeeezzz
Ask questions, meet dancers, and be part of the conversation.

It got better for me when I switched from the "role" that I thought any new tanguera should adapt (?) and back to the real me which is: "unless you help to put food on my plate I don't need you". Translated (mistakenly) by most as "arrogant". Either way it worked.
I think the key is to mirror what you are receiving. I'm nice to people that are nice to me (and basically everyone gets one chance to screw me over). But I'm more than capable of either responding in kind, or completely ignore, (depending on my mood) people who are jerks.Interesting. I am learning, over and over again, that being a nice person who tries to work well with others only gets me walked all over and heavily disrespected. The level of disrespect from some of the local dancers is truly ridiculous. What makes them believe they can treat me like this? Oh, wait. They think they can get away with it; that must be it.
People complain, frequently, about other dancers or some instructors who seem "uppity" because they're pretty much all business and don't try to be friends with groups of people. Maybe I'd rather be assigned the descriptor "arrogant" than to be the constant target of disrespect.

If someone I barely know doesn't like me, I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. After all, I've gotten along fine without them thus far. Let the fellowship of the miserable do their thing, and the rest of us will do ours.

.. I don´t agree with this....
I'm glad you stayed. Daniel Trenner said (I hope I get this right) "that no matter how good you get, there will always be people who wouldn't like you anyway." You seem to have found one.
I know what you mean - I'm always surprised when anyone actually thinks or talks about me - I mean, why would they? But apparently it happens.I have found this to be true, too. I wonder why some people put any energy into thinking about me at all.
I have found this to be true, too. I wonder why some people put any energy into thinking about me at all.( especially when their dancing is so in its infancy) Fine I dont have a problem with being rated, or you may have enjoyed or not enjoyed dancing with me, but I dont really socialise when I'm dancing so whatever they may think about me; its largely projection. And I dont care if they like me or not I only care that I dance to the best of my ability and that they do the same. My friends are the people I arrive and leave with or choose to meet on other occasions.
I think the women in Tango gossip far more than the men anyway.

Sign me up for that too, pleaseHa, ha, ha. Want to be my co-partner on these little seminars I'm going to run entitled "Learn How To Be Arrogant With Panache". Pots of wonga in it![]()
Great, yet another stalker(and anyway I think about you - coz I like ya).
