Happy and/or Random Thoughts #3

So, I've decided to try something new in the new year. I found an online advertisement for an AT group class followed by a milonga (AT social dance), at a dance venue that I haven't been to before. While I've taken AT lessons on and off for awhile, and recently competed in AT, I've never actually been to an event billed as a milonga. I'm hoping to get some new ideas or perspective, and maybe meet new people in the dance community.

My local library branch also has several free activities that I'm interested in, including adult coloring, DIY craft projects and movies. There's also a book club. Refreshments are offered at most of them. It couldn't hurt to try something new.

Went to the gym yesterday...gym's full of people, which is strange, because usually it's just the regulars...then I realized the new people were new year's resolution folks...most of them will be gone by the end of February or early March.

Without getting into details, a long time nightmare project seems to be coming to an end. Feedback from analyst was "purr, you did an excellent job explaining everything". I feel like crying.

Two messages in two days on different dresses I have up for sale. If even one of them sells, I'll be in a much better position to include a major US comp this year...

(Now, if only we could start getting partner messages too...)

Good things sometimes happen in three's, so keep hope alive. :)

Whenever I put a letter in the mailbox marked "Outgoing Mail", I swear I can hear lots of tiny voices saying, "Hi, come on in!", "Glad you could join us!", "Welcome to the party," and "Hey everyone, come and meet the new guy!"

The same thing happened to me this week (2 messages about dresses)! Mine aren't worth that much but still...

What I really wanted to show my happiness about is that today, for the first time since Sept. 8, I was able to wear my Big Girl, 2" heel smooth shoes and I made it through an entire lesson! I had knee replacement back then and started back dancing in January. My knee/leg/foot is still swelling enough that I couldn't even get my foot into the shoe until today, so of course I said damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead!

Random and a bit (wishful thinking) happy....

Reminiscent of the "Sleeping in Competition Hair Thread":

My son was super excited about putting his hair in a mohawk (faux-hawk?) this weekend. "Mom, do we have any gel?" He was very careful about how he slept in order to preserve it. It lasted two days. I'm logging this under "future ballroom dancer preparation".

Last night I was at the Seattle-Tacoma airport, and there was a blurb on the TV in the terminal about a program to host honey bee hives on the airport grounds out past the end of the runways. As we were taking off, I wondered if we were waking any sleeping bees.

Then I wondered if a sleeping bee is really just a spelling bee for dyslexics.
