Tango Vals (AT vs BR)

Well, that may be true. However, you can't expect everyone to take care of everyone. Ones have to take priority and make decision fastly, otherwise everyone loses opportunities. As in real life.

LOL that's like someone driving their Hummer on the sidewalk then declaring it was absolutely no problem for anyone since no one was run over. If you're taking up as much space as 5 other couples, then that definitely is a problem. Maybe you don't see it, but it is a problem.

cool; I'm going to start reading Ballard again ( only the sci-fi)

can we get this back on topic guys

i think it was about vals and possibly Ballroom( where floor craft is more gladiatorial)

or are saying that we shouldn't dance a vals like a waltz because/if the floor is too crowded. Like what I often does. I suspect many Argentines dont know how to dance vals with a waltz feeling becuase the milongas are too crowded...

anyway tango is dead Lets Rumba baby!

"The rumba is the vertical expression of a horizontal wish. You have to hold her, like the skin on her thigh is your reason for living. Let her go, like your heart's being ripped from your chest. Throw her back, like you're going to have your way with her right here on the dance floor. And then finish, like she's ruined you for life."

Just catching up here:

Can you clarify what you mean by dancing "like Vincent & Flavia"?

Do you mean "dancing show tango"? In a milonga?

If so, that's... interesting...

Oh. Good.

Exactly. Showdance in crowded (or not) milongas. The most difficult part when I dance with beginners is to make them stop a figure when needed.

Nor should they. Vals and Waltz are 2 different dances. Why should they be danced the same? Vals is a very contained dance. It's the smoothest dance on the planet, and one of my favs, actually.

I'm not suggesting they are danced the same but with feeling for the swirling lilting movements in the music...as some of the above videos have shown..
