Whine...a little more than two weeks to go until my next hair appointment...and I have some major white (and yes, I mean white, not any shade of grey) roots...it's a good thing my lowlights faded to a lighter color...the whole thing doesn't look bad or awful...but I'm ready for color...I don't usually bother to touch up the roots going to work...I'll do something with it when I go out Friday evening and maybe when I go see A Christmas Carol Saturday afternoon...

On the plus side, with new hair product purchased from stylist, I've got a much better handle on creating volume and keeping it throughout the day. There's a lot to be said for finger combing a style once it's done, then setting it with a pomade and spray.
 
I have been talked into performing at the holiday show that I successfully avoided the past two years. We picked music yesterday for the two routines, and have been researching ideas last night/today... I have watched a LOT of terrible videos, and now I'm depressed.
 
Usual craptastic November weather in Chicago.

And I just got back not too long ago from a short getaway in sunnier climes. <sigh>
 
SO I realized late last week that my boss screwed me out of a $1000 bonus by deliberately cutting me out of negotiations for managed service contract with our client company. Which in turn also cost me $25/mo and will prevent me from getting an additional $325/ month over the next year. i have since been trying to calm myself down before i have a meeting to bring this bull sh*t up. because he's done this before, but he's a favored son, and so no one calls him on it. I am not much calmer and i want to bury this jerk.

In related news, i may be looking for a new job soon, so if you need a rockstar IT program manager in the Chicago area, let me know.

Good luck! Suggest documenting everything in writing and getting HR involved if necessary.

Keeping HR in the loop is from the perspective if you were to file a complaint with an outside agency later on. One of the questions an investigator most likely will ask is did you take your concerns to HR, especially if you don't get anywhere with management. But I understand what you're saying, and why. I hope you get your issue resolved!

Good luck. I had a tough talk with my boss this morning that I had spent the weekend dreading. It went better than I expected, though time will tell... fingers crossed yours does as well.

Well, I had the meeting, and my direct supervisor spent the whole time prevaricating and deflecting questions. LAME. I get to do more follow up tomorrow.
 
OK, so here's a pretty petty and seemingly minor issue: my shampoo seems to no longer exist.
For decades, I've been using Alberto VO5, Normal. I always bought it at CVS and its predecessors. Now suddenly it's nowhere to be seen. I tried Walgreens and got the same results.
First question is whether that shampoo has actually gone out of existence.
Second question is, assuming it still exists, where can I find it?
Third question is, assuming it no longer exists, what suitable substitute is there?

If you wonder what kind of hair care and conditioning I require, just regard my avatar photo from about 1.5 decades ago. My hair then was excessively shaggy -- nowadays I get my hair cut at least once a month, 2 on the sides and 3 on the top (because 4 left it too shaggy). And I do not want anything scented.
