Best New Songs

I love country music and always wondered why others didn't like it. True, some of it is terrible, including those decades you mentioned, but most of it is so great, and really makes you want to dance. JMO
Around my area and in the events (that have country dance stuff) I've
attended, the dance music is really just a small slice of all the country
music out there (on the radio, etc.). It's only the "danceable" songs
that have tune and flow that suit the trained dance movements (with
lots of room for ad-lib) that get played. So, perhaps the likes and
dislikes are more based on different segments of the big pie, as well
as the ears of the DJs in geographic region.

Old style rap, reincarnated.
Cha Cha , West Coast Swing, Hustle...

24K Magic - Bruno Mars - 2016

The top 15 of the current Top 40 list all seem to have a
similar style/sound, but this one stands separate.

How about this one?

Sia Never Give Up Samba 2016

I hear a strong samba beat in there that could possibly be used... but it sounds like it would fit another dance better. What do you think?

I vote Samba. I tend to like the "slower" and more subdued music for
dancing Samba, which leaves time for "settling." This one also has that
"middle-eastern" sound and actually feels more easy for dancing Samba
than the other one (Hey Baby) because it flows better.

They play this quite a bit at WCS, but it's hard to catch someone
who can do a decent Samba (movement, motion) there...

We Don't Talk Any More - Charlie Puth and Selena Gomez - 2016

And following the Sia link, another soft Samba...

Bird Set Free - Sia - 2016

No WCS expert here, but that Charlie Puth & Selena Gomez song is exactly what I think a stereotypical WCS song is.

Sia seems to love some variation of the samba beat in a lot of her songs.
