getting it is one thing ...liking it is another...not into math jokes, not into math...not into the end conclusion either...doesn't mean it isn't a perfectly fun and funny offering on balance...like everyone else around here, i am entitled to my own opinion which doesn't make the objective properties of the joke any less funny...but not terribly relevant to cleavage

can we quit with the talk about women being the root of all evil ...it is just ridiculous and insulting....if there is more to say on defining respectful, go right ahead....if the the thread doesn't return to some sort of sincere conversation about how to navigate some rather unavoidable sights...then to my mind the subject is exhausted and needs to be dropped...b/c it isn't going to devolve further

Not a woman, so this is just a guess (and we all know I don't understand them
), but I'd venture that ithis is almost never going to be acceptable, at least not without some type of preexisting relationship, and even then, type of comment you can get away with will depend strongly on the relationship. I can think of a few friends that might accept and even laugh at/enjoy a comment along lines of "So you decided to bring the girls along to the club tonight?" as acknowledgement of a low cut shirt when we're out. (of course, being as shy as I am, would be unlikely to ever say that, but that's another issue). And of course comments appropriate between lovers, daters, spouses, etc, as fasc and others have already mentioned. But I don't think there's any safe, yet still obvious, way to make a comment like that to a stranger or passing acquaintance. Though you can try the allusion used on episode of House I watched last night. "I like your blouse", with it's corrolary, "I like your shoes", to comment on her legs. Of course, if she doesn't get the allusion, just comes off sounding a little effeminate.PretzelsAndBeer

I'd just like to say that I'm really sad about how this thread has gone. It used to be that DF was the only place on the internet you could find salsa conversation that wasn't mired in bitching and cheap shots.
So c'mon; the cleavage thread can be a light hearted chat with some serious points made ... but there's no need to get so worked up about it! There's not going to be anything said on this thread that loses you a competition, or destroys your salsa social life, or makes you unlearn some piece of salsa technique...
