*Rant warning*

F*, people who can't stick to a schedule. I have 3 ballroom, 2 ballet and 2 yoga classes booked per week on a standing schedule that lets me make it all work. I fit in practice and the gym around those things. When pros or facilities start changing things around/cancelling, it F*s everything up and makes me crabby. I'm starting to put my foot down. I'll accommodate if I can, but if I can't, I'm saying no... and if it starts happening often (like it has been for 2 out of the 4 sources lately), we're having a talk about how this isn't working and needs to change. And not part of the talk, but if it doesn't, I'm fully prepared to look elsewhere, because I don't need this kind of stress in my life or to stay loyal to a provider that cannot meet my needs.

I'm going to jump on this bandwagon - I've literally had to re-schedule this week's lesson twice with pro at his request, and I made a concession to do a daytime lesson (where I have to take PTO at work) instead of evenings. We don't have a "standing" b/c we alternate between daytime and evening (he can't get a big enough space for standard in the evening) and it largely depends on my workload (meetings, etc) and availability at the studio where he is renting space. I generally try to be flexible but sometimes it gets annoying.

I feel your pain. I've had scheduling issues - no one wants to come in when I have free time for lessons. End result - my lessons have been pretty sparse, but the upside is I've saved a lot of money.

LOL, I've only accomplished the latter a couple times. Somewhat recently, my pro was out of town for a week so we did not have a lesson (which I found out when I contacted him to tell him my availability). Then the next week he tried to schedule two sets of lessons, and I was like "nope". I make every effort to accommodate when I'm the reason for the change or cancellation, but if the pro/instructor can't make it, that's on them and I feel no obligation to go out of my way to make it up.

I have serious time commitments for work and at home right now. My free time is limited. There are two or three pro's I would be willing to take lessons with. I'm flexible, and I can work with different pro's on different things. However, I'm not, and shouldn't have to, accommodate their schedule, just because none wants to work on a day or time I can take lessons. Furthermore, I traveled up the studio several times a week for lessons, group classes, etc. for years. I can't do that anymore. The studio staff knows that. I'm sorry they think times should be like they used to, but it's just not possible. End of rant.

ugh, I hate waiting! In the middle of an unpleasant situation and nothing will be done on it until next Tuesday. As a woman of action, it’s extra frustrating. I really wish the dance studio/corporation issues would stop cropping up every 6 months or so. And I’m watching the makeup community devolve as well! Can’t humans not destroy things?!

My big meeting got moved to tomorrow but there were meetings about it. I’m not sure how it’s all shaking out, but it sounds like my owner had difficult convos with corporate and there are some limited changes occurring.

People who love making music, but have no skill at it, have moved in next door.

That's not the part that upsets me. The part that upsets me is that they do it outside, or don't close the windows when they do it inside. Fine enough if you live in the sticks, but not cool if you're living in a row home.
