Why some women are not asked to dance

That's me! If a man wants to dance with me, will have to fight
And I don't whine, I like it like that!
Men don't come to a Milonga to fight...we come to dance! Playing "hard to get" games is contrary to a cordial social atmosphere. That kind of attitude is not a good idea.
Furthermore, in a Milonga when there are crowds and loud music, it's hard to converse. Body language is louder than words. So if you sit timidly in the corner, you tell leaders who potentially would like to dance with you "Leave me alone, do not approach me!" Again, not a good idea if you want to dance.

A funny game. At my favorite milongas I hardly see any opportunities to fight exhaustively. Men stand mostly with the back to a wall, woman sit around the dancefloor, I can't wait forever for a mirada.
If my SO is there I have little free time, she wouldn't find it funny either because she gets jealous easily.
And if a buddy is with me, we discuss the situation during the cortina, there is no room for stubbornness.

She is going barefoot on that picture.

PS: you probably won’t get it unless you know where that picture comes from.
